Overview
The AIM-D500-CA DC insulation monitor is specifically designed for unearthed DC systems (IT systems) in electric vehicle charging applications. It continuously monitors the insulation resistance of both positive and negative poles to earth, ensuring operational safety. When insulation resistance falls below preset thresholds, the device issues pre-alarm or alarm signals via LED indicators and relay outputs. The monitor employs signal injection method and supports both CCS (Combined Charging System) and CHAdeMO charging standards. Designed for DC 50-400V systems (expandable to 1000V with ACPD300 coupler), it is ideal for EV charging stations, substation DC panels, UPS systems, and other DC networks. The product features LCD display, multiple alarm settings, DI/DO interfaces, event recording, and self-test/reset functions, with standard 35mm DIN rail mounting and plug-in terminals.

| Voltage Alarm | Overvoltage (100-120% adjustable) and undervoltage (80-100% adjustable) alarms with configurable delays |
| PE/KE Connection Monitoring | Detects disconnection of PE or KE terminals and issues alarm |
| Insulation Fault Assessment | When system voltage exceeds 50V, the “Insulation Assessment” submenu displays pole-to-earth voltages and resistances for fault location |
| Digital Input | 1 DI for external button: short press (<2s) for reset, long press (>2s) for self-test, sustained press (>5s) to toggle between monitoring and stop modes |
| Digital Output | 2 relay outputs (NO/NC selectable) with configurable fault binding (pre-alarm, alarm, overvoltage, undervoltage, reverse polarity, PE/KE disconnection, device fault) |
| Event Recording | Up to 50 fault records with fault type, value, and time stamp |
| Self–test & Reset | Self-test via ▲ button, DI, or remote communication. Reset via ESC button, DI, or remote communication. Reset mode selectable: auto or manual |
| Stop Monitoring Function | Monitoring can be stopped via DI, remote communication, or “Stop Mode” submenu. Internal relay disconnects from earth with 3kV dielectric strength |
| Startup Delay | Adjustable startup delay (0-10s) to suppress monitoring interference |
| LCD Display | 128×64 dot-matrix LCD shows parameters, system information, and fault records |
| Communication | RS485 interface with Modbus-RTU protocol for SCADA integration |
| DIN Rail Mounting | Standard 35mm DIN rail mounting for easy installation |
| Plug–in Terminals | Plug-in terminal blocks simplify wiring and maintenance |

FAQ
The AIM-D500-CA supports both CCS (Combined Charging System) widely used in Europe and America, and CHAdeMO standard mainly used in Japan, making it suitable for global EV charging markets.
The AIM-D500-CA can be used with the ACPD300 coupling device to extend the monitoring range up to 1000V DC. Set the “Coupler” menu to “Connected” when using ACPD300.
Stop Mode disconnects the monitor from the earth via an internal relay (3kV dielectric strength). This is useful when insulation monitoring needs to be temporarily suspended. The mode can be toggled via DI, remote communication, or the “Stop Mode” submenu.
The monitor continuously checks the connection of PE and KE terminals to earth. If either terminal is disconnected, the device displays “PEKE off” on the LCD and the FAULT LED lights up, ensuring reliable grounding.
Yes, the DI can be connected to an external button. Short press (<2s) resets the device, long press (>2s) initiates self-test, and sustained press (>5s) toggles between monitoring and stop modes.
Summary
The AIM-D500-CA DC insulation monitor is a comprehensive solution for EV charging stations, supporting both CCS and CHAdeMO international standards.
