Background
With the rapid expansion of 5G networks and tower sharing models across the Middle East, telecom towers have become increasingly energy-intensive and complex in power supply.
Traditional single-loop meters fail to accurately allocate energy costs among multiple operators sharing the same tower, leading to billing disputes and hidden energy waste.
A multi-loop energy monitoring solution is essential for precise measurement, transparent cost allocation, and intelligent energy management.
Pain & Value
Your Pain Points
Lack of visibility into per-operator energy consumption makes cost allocation between shared tower tenants opaque, causing billing disputes and revenue leakage.
Traditional single-loop metering requires multiple meters per tower, driving up hardware and installation costs.
Manual meter reading and on-site troubleshooting across remote tower sites are time-consuming and labor-intensive, with delayed fault response.
Our Acrel Value
Acrel multi-loop meters provide independent energy measurement for each operator, delivering transparent, auditable data for fair and accurate cost allocation.
One Acrel meter replaces multiple traditional meters, significantly reducing procurement and installation costs while saving valuable cabinet space.
Real-time remote data transmission via RS485 or 4G enables centralized monitoring, reducing on-site visits and enabling rapid fault alerts.
Solution
Acrel Multi-Circuit Energy Monitoring Solution for Shared Telecom Towers
AC Multi-Loop Meters / Din-rail
Suitable for AC distribution cabinets in telecom towers, monitoring total AC input, air conditioners, switch mode power supply (SMPS) AC input, lighting, and other AC loads. A single meter supports up to 12 single-phase or 4 three-phase loops (DTSD1352-4S), or up to 24 single-phase / 8 three-phase loops (AMC200-AC). Rail-mounted design with mA-level CT input ensures safe and convenient installation.
DC Multi-Loop Meters / Din-rail
Suitable for -48V DC distribution cabinets in telecom towers, accurately monitoring DC branches from SMPS output. A single meter supports 6 DC loops (AMC16-DETT, default configuration with total + stc Group/Mobily/e&/du/Zain/Ooredoo/Omantel sub-loops), or up to 12 DC loops (AMC200-DC). Specifically designed for multi-operator billing in shared towers, providing fair and transparent measurement data.
AC Multi-Loop Meters / Panel-Mounted
Suitable for AC distribution cabinets or custom panels where flush mounting is required. The meter integrates seamlessly with the cabinet panel, improving aesthetics and operational consistency. A single AMC300 supports up to 18 single-phase or 6 three-phase loops, featuring a large LCD screen for local data viewing.
Whether the tower uses AC or DC distribution, or requires panel-mount integration, Acrel offers dedicated single multi-loop meters to replace dozens of traditional single-loop meters.
All meters support RS485 (Modbus-RTU) and wireless (4G/NB-IoT) communication, seamlessly connecting to local Middle East tower monitoring systems or the Acrel energy management platform.
This enables real-time energy monitoring, automatic billing reports, and anomaly alerts, helping shared towers move from “coarse management” to “refined and intelligent” operation.
