Background
The rapid expansion of data centers has intensified challenges in energy management and power distribution reliability. Efficient and reliable power distribution is essential to improve Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and ensure continuous operation of IT equipment. Traditional metering solutions, however, face limitations in cost, space, installation complexity, and monitoring coverage across multiple load circuits. A dedicated multi-loop monitoring solution for precision power distribution cabinets (header cabinets) is therefore required.
Pain & Value
Your Pain Points
High energy costs and lack of granular visibility into energy consumption at IT load level, making PUE optimization difficult.
Traditional multi-instrument solutions require high upfront investment and complex wiring, increasing total project cost.
Manual inspection of numerous outgoing circuits is time-consuming, inefficient, and prone to missing anomalies.
Our Acrel Value
Reduces energy waste and lowers operational costs through real-time branch-level power consumption monitoring and PUE analytics.
Highly integrated modular design reduces hardware count and wiring work, delivering lower total cost of ownership.
Real-time monitoring of up to 192 outgoing circuits with individually configurable alarm thresholds and instant sound/light alerts.
Solution
Acrel Critical Power Distribution Monitoring Solution
AC System
For 220V AC system header cabinets, the Master module monitors A+B dual incoming lines (voltage, current, power, harmonics up to 63rd, zero‑to‑ground voltage). The Slave module monitor up to 30/48 single‑phase or 10/16 three-phase outgoing circuits with outlet‑level energy metering and independent alarm thresholds.
DC System
Suitable for -48V DC distribution cabinets in telecom towers, accurately monitoring DC For –48V / 240V / 336V DC systems (common in telecom and colocation data centers), the Master module monitors dual DC incoming lines. The Slave module monitor 30 or 48 DC outgoing circuits, providing precise branch‑level DC power measurement.
Local HMI
Touchscreen HMI is deployed inside the header cabinet or on the door. It displays all incoming / outgoing electrical parameters, alarm status, historical data, and event logs. Data can be uploaded to a local BMS, DCIM platform, or the AcrelEMS-IDC energy management platform via RS485/Modbus‑RTU or optional Ethernet/Modbus-TCP.
