Background
The Middle East is transitioning from an energy hub to a green grid, facing challenges from high temperatures, sandstorms, and renewable integration. Smart substations are now the critical foundation for a resilient, efficient, and sustainablBusways are critical for power distribution in data centers, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities. Abnormal temperature rise at connection points caused by contact resistance or overload is a major cause of failures. Traditional manual inspections cannot detect risks in time, requiring an online, continuous, and accurate temperature monitoring solution.
Pain & Value
Your Pain Points
Sudden busway overheating causes data center or plant shutdowns, leading to huge financial loss and reputational damage
Complex temperature monitoring solutions requiring power-off installation increase procurement and coordination costs
Dense busway joints make it difficult to quickly locate overheating points, reducing maintenance efficiency
Our Acrel Value
Provides 24/7 online temperature monitoring and early warning, shifting from reactive repair to proactive prevention, ensuring business continuity
AMB series supports live installation (hot-swappable), offers wired/wireless communication, reducing deployment cost and time
Provides temperature data for each joint, supports HMI centralized display and remote alarms, greatly improving O&M efficiency
Solution
Busway Tempearture Monitoring Solution

The Acrel AMB series busway temperature monitoring solution adopts a three-layer architecture from sensing, transmission to management, covering busway joints, tap-off units, surfaces, and long-distance busways.
Products include AMB100 (tap-off unit monitoring), AMB200 (joint temperature monitoring), AMB300 (infrared non-contact), and AMB400 (fiber optic distributed sensing), suitable for new construction, retrofit, dense, and long-distance applications.
Busway Tap-off & Plug-in Unit Monitoring – NTC

AMB100 monitors voltage, current, energy, temperature, humidity, and leakage for AC/DC busway tap-off units. It supports RS485 or LoRa wireless communication, tracks switch and alarm status. Prevents overload and overheating at branch level.
Busway Connection Point Temp. Monitoring – Infrared

AMB300 uses infrared thermometry with up to 16×12 sensor array to measure busbar surface temperature without contact. Ideal for retrofit projects. Supports RS485 and custom alarm thresholds. Scalable for large-scale surface monitoring.
Busway Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) – Fiber Optic

AMB400 uses fiber optic cable as a continuous sensor to measure temperature along long-distance busways. Each 100m fiber provides 1000 sensing points. Perfect for high-rise buildings and dense busbars. Precisely locates hotspots.
