FAQ

How to select the matching Hall sensor?

The AMC16-DETT is designed to work with open-loop Hall sensors with 5V output. Choose the model based on the current range: for the total circuit, recommend 200A/5V (AHKC-K, aperture 64×16mm); for branches like Mobile/Unicom/Telecom, recommend 50A/5V (AHKC-EKA, aperture Φ20mm) or 100A/5V (AHKC-EKB, aperture Φ40mm). Connect the sensor output wires to terminals 37/38/39.

How to perform zero calibration?

The module supports zero calibration via PC software or Modbus communication. When there is no current in the circuit, send a command (e.g., write 0x8801~0x88FF to Modbus address 12) to correct zero drift for each Hall sensor, ensuring accuracy at low currents.

What to do if communication fails?

First, check if the RS485 A/B wires are crossed and if the termination resistor matches. Then confirm the module address and baud rate (default 9600) are consistent with the host. If multiple units fail, test a single unit.

Possible reasons for inaccurate measurement?

Please verify: 1) The Hall sensor’s through-hole direction matches the label. 2) The sensor output negative (GND) is connected to module GND. 3) The current ratio is correctly set (Modbus addresses 5~10 or via menu). 4) Sensor power supply (+12V/-12V) is normal.

The module fails to start or displays abnormally?

Check if auxiliary power terminals 1 and 2 are connected to -48V DC with correct polarity. If the built-in supply is overloaded by Hall sensors, use an external power supply for the sensors.

How to set the current ratio?

The current ratio can be modified via Modbus registers 5~10 (for channels 1~6) or via the LCD menu (AMC16L-DETT). Default value is 40, corresponding to 200A full scale for a 5V output Hall sensor (5V×40=200A). If using a 50A sensor, set the ratio to 10 (50A/5V=10).

Summary

The AMC16-DETT offers six independent DC metering channels, high accuracy, and standard RS485 communication, solving energy allocation challenges in multi-operator base stations. Built-in Hall sensor power simplifies wiring, while 2MB storage logs historical data with alarm support for remote maintenance—providing reliable data for energy saving and digital management.
