FAQ

How does the AMB400 system measure temperature?

The system uses sensing fibre as the sensor, emitting laser pulses and detecting the Raman scattering signals generated in the fibre. By analysing signal intensity and transmission time, it achieves temperature measurement and location at each point along the fibre.

What is the difference between DTS100 and DTS005 series?

DTS100 series has longer measurement distance (10km) with 0.5m spatial resolution; DTS005 series has higher spatial resolution (0.05m) for short-distance high-precision applications, with 3.2km measurement distance.

How many channels does the system support? What is the maximum fibre length per channel?

The system supports 4/8/12/16 channels. For DTS100 series, maximum fibre length per channel is 10km; for DTS005 series, it is 3.2km.

How does the system communicate with the host computer?

The system supports multiple communication methods: 1 RJ45 Ethernet (Modbus-TCP protocol), 2 RS485 (Modbus-RTU protocol), and 1 RS232. Multiple interfaces can be used simultaneously for dual-network independent communication.

How to set temperature alarm thresholds?

The system supports zone-based alarm threshold setting, with up to 125 zones per channel. Fixed temperature, rate-of-rise, and pre-alarm thresholds can be independently set for each zone via the debugging software or Modbus communication.

What are the precautions for fibre installation?

1) Fibre tension ≤100N; 2) Avoid twisting; 3) Avoid sharp bends, bending radius ≥20cm; 4) Keep fibre connectors clean and dust-free.

Summary

The AMB400 system provides continuous temperature monitoring over long distances with high spatial resolution and accuracy. Its fibre optic sensing technology is immune to EMI and suitable for harsh environments. Up to 16 channels and 10km range cover extensive installations. Zone-based alarms with relay outputs enable automated responses. An ideal solution for critical infrastructure where early fire or fault detection is essential.
