FAQ
These two products have different focuses.
ADL400N-CT: Specifically designed for external high-current CTs. It has no internal current channels and must work with our split-core CTs (80A-300A). Its key advantage is the high-speed response (50ms) for dynamic applications like PV and storage.
ADL400: A more comprehensive platform. It supports both direct connection (up to 80A) and external micro-CTs (e.g., 1A/5A secondary) . It adds advanced features like 2nd-31st harmonic analysis, multi-tariff, and 48-month historical data freeze, making it suitable for detailed power quality analysis and refined cost allocation.
Selection Guide: Choose ADL400N-CT if you need real-time control (e.g., anti-backfeed). Choose ADL400 if you need in-depth data analysis (e.g., harmonic diagnosis, time-of-use billing).
Take PV anti-backfeed as an example. Grid codes typically require that reverse power flow duration at the point of common coupling be limited (e.g., within 2 seconds). The ADL400N-CT outputs the current power value to the inverter every 50ms. The inverter can then adjust its output power almost in real-time, keeping reverse power to a minimum, ensuring strict grid compliance and avoiding penalties or disconnection.
Very convenient. The CTs are split-core. Simply open the CT, clamp it onto the cable to be measured, and secure it with ties or brackets. No need to disconnect the primary cable, which is extremely friendly for retrofit projects. Each CT comes with a 2-meter signal cable for direct connection to the meter’s current input terminals. Note that voltage signals must be connected separately (a 5A fuse is recommended), and shielded twisted pair cable is required for RS485 communication.
Yes, absolutely. You can set the network parameter “PL” to “3P3L” (representing 3-phase 3-wire in the meter) in the programming menu via the front buttons, and then connect the voltage and current according to the 3-phase 3-wire diagram in the manual.
Summary
ADL400N combines 50ms fast response, 3-phase external CTs, and Class B accuracy in a 4-module design. It enables precise anti-backfeed control and real-time monitoring for commercial energy systems.
