Overview

The ADF400L series multi-user energy meter is a high-performance metering device specifically designed for centralized installation and tenant sub-metering.
Utilizing a modular and combinable structure, it flexibly integrates a main module with direct-connect or transformer-connect metering modules.
A single unit can simultaneously meter up to 12 three-phase circuits or 36 single-phase circuits, and can also handle mixed configurations of direct and transformer connections.
The series features prepayment functionality supporting remote or RFID card recharging, and is widely used in residential complexes, schools, commercial buildings, and enterprises requiring centralized power management.

Selection Guide

Model code example: ADF400L-5H2S5DY

  • H: Number of transformer-connected 3-phase circuits (max 12, must be even)
  • S: Number of direct-connected 3-phase circuits (max 12)
  • D: Number of direct-connected single-phase circuits (max 36)
  • Y: Prepayment type (omitted for metering type)
  • Options: IC (RFID card), CE (Ethernet), K (digital I/O), *C (up to 3 RS485 ports)

Configuration principle: One main module supports up to 36 circuits (1 three-phase = 3 single-phase). For example, 5 transformer-connected circuits (count as 6), 2 direct 3-phase circuits, 5 direct single-phase circuits: total circuits = 6×3 + 2×3 + 5 = 29 ≤36, model = ADF400L-5H2S5DY, requiring 3 transformer modules, 2 three-phase direct modules, and 2 single-phase direct modules.

Summary

The ADF400L series multi-user energy meter provides an integrated solution for centralized multi-circuit metering and prepayment management with its modular design and highly integrated functionality. It consolidates metering, monitoring, and control for up to 36 single-phase or 12 three-phase circuits into a single unit, significantly simplifying on-site wiring, reducing installation costs, and saving valuable distribution space. Supporting multiple control modes (prepayment, time control, load control, forced control) and flexible communication options (RS485, infrared, Ethernet), it can be easily integrated into various energy management systems to meet the refined power management needs of residential complexes, schools, commercial buildings, and more. Strictly complying with national standards, this series ensures high measurement accuracy, reliable operation, and is an ideal choice for users aiming to achieve intelligent power management and improve operational efficiency.

FAQ

How to check communication between main and slave modules?

After power-up, press the second button on the main module to scroll through user numbers. Check for error codes below the number. No display means normal; Err1, Err2, Err3 indicate address error, type mismatch, or missing module. Check wiring and module order.

How does prepayment auto-disconnect work?

Two alarm thresholds can be set. When remaining energy falls below alarm1, LCD shows “Please purchase”. Below alarm2, the meter automatically trips. Reclosing delay can be set 0-255s (255 = no auto-reclose). If overdraft exceeds limit, power is also cut.

What communication protocols are supported and how to set them?

Supports Modbus-RTU and DL/T645-07. Address, baud rate, and parity can be set via keypad programming menu. For Ethernet models, IP address, gateway, etc., must also be configured.

What is the maximum current for direct-connect modules and wiring precautions?

Direct-connect modules support up to 80A. Terminals must be tightened securely with torque ≤3N·m, and ensure neutral wire is properly connected (the two N terminals are internally connected).

How to select fuses for transformer-connect modules?

Fuses connected to terminals 44 and 47 should have voltage rating higher than system voltage and current rating of 3-5A to protect the control circuit.
